Brief
Spectrum, a promotions company, were looking to develop a new logo that they could apply to various kinds of media. With such a common name the logo needed to be something quite outstanding in order for it to be noticed.
Idea
An obvious choice for a company named 'Spectrum' was to use lots of colour. We felt this was clichéd, being used countless times before. The idea of using a colourless logo soon came through, and the use of black and white, with a bold typeface was determined. It then allowed room for colour to be used in more inventive ways.
Result
With such a simple design the emphasis was to make the typeface sit well. Lots of time was spent perfecting the letter size and spacing, ensuring that the logo could stand up against competition.
