Brief
Retail giant ASDA were looking to promote their energy saving campaign for the launch of their new flagship energy efficient store in Bootle. The store uses many energy saving systems and so digital signage was an obvious choice of media. Working with a supplier who meters the energy saving systems, we were asked to design content that would poll data from a central resource and relay it back into a digital signage system. The content itself had to reflect the stores purpose and promote the store's lowest carbon footprint status.
Idea
Working alongside another design agency, our ideas were born from ASDA's existing branding. We wanted to include existing design assets already used in the store, ensuring a consistent message throughout. Adding a jute texture and cartoon animations added to an eco-friendly feel.
Result
A much more energy efficient medium in a much more energy efficient store. Automation of the system allowed ASDA to show off their hard-earned results. The content was displayed prominently around the till area successfully informing the public as they queued to pay for their shopping.
